New Mattapan Health Center Shows Neighborhood’s Strong Side


Patriots Player Vince Wilfork and his wife Bianca recently toured the new Mattapan Community Health Center building now under construction on Blue Hill Avenue in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. It’s due to open in mid-summer, 2012.

Mayor Menino & Governor Patrick enjoy the moment at the recent 16th annual “Rock the Boat” gala at Boston’s waterfront Renaissance Hotel in support of the Mattapan Community Health Center. Both the mayor and the governor were hand to accept Community Health Pinnacle awards.It’s the 16th annual “Rock the Boat” fundraiser and marks the Center’s 40th anniversary.

Jim Rooney, Executive Director of of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority “high fives” Dr. Azzie Young, President & CEO of the Mattapan Community Health Center at the Center’s recent 16th annual “Rock the Boat” gala fundraiser. The event drew hundreds of people to the Renaissance Hotel on Boston’s waterfront on Saturday, April 28, 2012 – to support the Center’s health programs and celebrate its 40th anniversary. Rooney was a co-chair of this year’s event.

Held at the Renaissance Hotel on Boston’s waterfront, the 16th annual fundraiser marks the Center’s 40th year and heralds the opening of its new health facility set to open in the summer of 2012.
